City University of New York (CUNY) LaGuardia Community College (LAGCC) currently offers educational degrees related to the offshore wind industry, covering disciplines such as engineering, biology, management, and science. The school also offers a free offshore wind technician program specifically for disadvantaged communities. Upon completion, students who enrolled in this program are equipped to take on various roles in the offshore wind industry, including but not limited to: Wind Resource Engineers, Marine Biologist/Environmental Scientists, Project Managers, and Turbine Technicians, supporting project development, construction, and maintenance.
LAGCC is also part of the CUNY offshore wind advisory network, a multi-school program providing participants the opportunity to explore offshore wind career titles and pathways, through interactive instructional seminars.
