Apprenticeships
United Association of Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 9 (UA Local 9) offers a 5-year apprenticeship providing entrants skills related to offshore wind careers, in plumbing, welding, and drafting roles, through a combination of paid on-the-job training and classroom learning. As part of the apprenticeship, entrants will earn certificates including OSHA safety and first aid training. Additionally, UA Local 9 offers training including foreman training, master plumbing license courses, drafting (CAD), CFC certification, and welding certifications. Through the apprenticeship or training courses entrants can prepare for offshore wind-related jobs including as welders, foremen, drafters, and repair workers.
