Apprenticeships

Rondout Electric, Inc., an open shop electrical contractor in upstate New York, offers its own Apprenticeship and Workforce Training Program that combines classroom instruction and paid, on-the-job training. The program equips apprentices with the skills needed to pursue careers in the offshore wind industry.

Apprentices gain experience in project layout and planning, underground installations, thinwall and rigid conduit raceway systems, installing services, switchboards, and panels, wiring and cable splicing and termination, lighting systems, motor and control system installation, testing and troubleshooting, material handling, and safety awareness. These skills are directly applicable to the construction, installation, operations, and maintenance activities that support offshore wind projects.

Graduates become qualified journey persons, prepared for long-term careers that may support offshore wind infrastructure development.
