Plumbers Joint Apprenticeship Training Committee Local Union #200
Apprenticeships
Plumbers Joint Apprenticeship Training Committee (JATC) Local Union (LU) #200 offers a five-year apprenticeship program, including a mix of classroom instruction and on-the-job training, equipping apprentices with the skills to pursue careers in the offshore wind industry. Apprentices gain expertise in the installation of plumbing and gas fitting for industrial facilities, commercial and municipal construction, alterations, residential construction, and transportation fuel facilities. Journeyworkers are also trained to service and maintain what they install. JATC LU#200 provides certification and continuing training programs to ensure that journeyworkers advance in their skill levels and meet the training requirements of contractors, customers, and government agencies. Several of these skills are essential for the construction and maintenance of offshore wind turbines, particularly internal piping systems that handle various fluids and electrical wiring. Graduates become qualified journey-persons, prepared for long term careers that may support offshore wind infrastructure development.
Plumbers Joint Apprenticeship Training Committee Local Union #200 is a New York State Department of Labor registered provider of apprenticeships for plumbers.
