Plumbers and Pipefitters Binghamton Local Union #112 offers a mix of classroom instruction and paid, on-the-job training, equipping apprentices with the skills needed to pursue careers in the offshore wind industry.
Apprentices gain expertise in pipe welding certifications, orbital welding certifications, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) 10 Hour construction safety, OSHA confined-space entry, and computer aided design (CAD). These skills are applicable to the construction, maintenance, and design in offshore wind projects.
Graduates become qualified journey-persons, prepared for long term careers that may support offshore wind infrastructure development.
