Plumbers and Pipefitters Binghamton Local Union #112 offers apprenticeship and journeyworker training programs for plumbers and steamfitters, with a mix of classroom instruction and paid, on-the-job training, equipping trainees with the skills needed to pursue careers in the offshore wind industry.
The five-year program grants apprentices expertise in plumbing, heating, welding, and air conditioning. Continuing training for experienced journeyworkers builds skills in pipe welding, orbital welding, OSHA training, and construction supervision — all of which are essential for the construction and fabrication of turbine components in offshore wind projects. Graduates of the program are prepared for long-term careers that may support offshore wind infrastructure development.
Local Union #112 is an active sponsor of New York State Department of Labor’s registered plumber and steamfitter apprenticeship program.
