Plumber & Steamfitters Local Union #7 Joint Apprenticeship & Training Committee

Apprenticeships

The Plumber & Steamfitters Local Union #7 Joint Apprenticeship & Training Committee offers a five-year apprenticeship program that combines over 9,000 hours of on-the-job training with more than 1,800 hours of classroom instruction. This extensive training provides apprentices with skills in plumbing, pipefitting, and HVAC systems, including the installation, maintenance, and repair of complex piping systems.

These competencies are applicable to the offshore wind industry, where constructing and maintaining wind turbines require expertise in fluid systems, welding, and adherence to stringent safety protocols. By integrating their foundational training with specialized offshore wind safety certifications, such as those from the Global Wind Organization (GWO), graduates are well-prepared to transition into roles within the offshore wind sector, contributing to its growth and sustainability.
