Apprenticeships

The Northeast District Council (NEDC) of the Operative Plasterers' and Cement Masons' International Association (OPCMIA) Apprenticeship Fund‎ offers a four-year long apprenticeship program that combines classroom instruction with paid, on-the-job training, equipping apprentices with the skills needed to pursue careers in the offshore wind industry. Apprentices gain expertise in   tool identification and use, scaffolding and safety procedures, first-aid and CPR, and the application of plaster and proper placement and finishing of concrete. These competencies may be leveraged for building and maintaining concrete foundations, platforms, and/or support structures required for offshore wind-associated facilities.

Northeast District Council of the OPCMIA Apprenticeship Fund‎ is a New York State Department of Labor registered provider of apprenticeships for plasterer and cement mason apprentices.
