The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers / National Electrical Contractors Association (IBEW/NECA) J.A.T.C. Local 237 is a New York State Department of Labor registered provider of apprenticeships for both commercial and residential electricians, building participants’ skills through a mix of classroom learning and paid on-the-job training. Commercial apprenticeships require participants to undergo at least 8,200 hours of on-the-job training, while residential apprentices need to complete 4,800 hours of the same. Apprentices are also required to complete related instruction for OSHA training or any other required training. Upon completion, apprentices graduate with the qualifications to work as a journeyperson within electrical trades, including in offshore wind related projects.
