Heat & Frost Insulators & Allied Workers Local #4

Apprenticeships

The Heat & Frost Insulators & Allied Workers Local #4’s apprenticeship program offers a mix of classroom instruction and paid, on-the-job training, equipping apprentices with the skills needed to pursue careers in the offshore wind industry. Apprentices gain expertise in  applying insulation, mastics, sealants, coatings and jacketing to heating and cooling systems, and well as installing ductwork, plumbing systems, tanks and vessels in a variety of settings – including plants, factories, schools, hospitals, and commercial buildings. These skills are essential for maintaining temperature control systems and protecting mechanical components that may be used in offshore wind facilities. Graduates become qualified journey-persons, prepared for long term careers that may support offshore wind infrastructure development by ensuring energy efficiency, safety and durability of system components.

The Heat & Frost Insulators & Allied Workers Local #4 is an active sponsor of the New York State Department of Labor’s registered Insulation and Asbestos Worker apprenticeship program.
