Electricians Joint Apprenticeship Training Committee Local of Ithaca #241
Apprenticeships
The Ithaca Electrical Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee (IEJATC) offers a mix of classroom instruction and paid, on-the-job training, equipping apprentices with the skills needed to pursue careers in the offshore wind industry. Jointly sponsored by the Southern Tier Chapter of the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local Union #24, the program provides training in AC/DC theory, motors and control systems, fire alarms, programmable logic controllers, and blueprint reading. Apprentices also receive instruction in safety protocols, first aid, and conduit bending – all essential for the installation, maintenance, and repair of complex electrical systems in offshore wind infrastructure. Graduates become qualified journey-persons, prepared for long-term careers that may support offshore wind development. The Ithaca Electrical Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee (IEJATC) is an active sponsor of New York State Department of Labor’s registered Inside Electrician apprenticeship program.
