Apprenticeships

Bricklayers & Allied Craftworkers Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee Local Union #2 offers a mix of classroom instruction and paid, on-the-job training, equipping apprentices with the skills needed to pursue careers in the offshore wind industry. Apprentices gain expertise in a variety of craftworker trades, particularly bricklayers (masons and plasterers); pointers, caulkers, and cleaners; cement finishers or cement masons; tile setters; and tile, marble, and terrazzo finishers. Skills imparted through the apprenticeship program include: laying and cutting masonry units; installation of rebars, grout, and insulating materials; constructing building footings, foundations, and other structural elements; installing masonry and facade systems; and plastering applications. All of these skills are essential for the construction of temporary and permanent structures to support offshore wind projects, such as factories, training facilities, and operations and maintenance centers.

Bricklayers & Allied Craftworkers Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee Local Union #2 is a New York State Department of Labor registered provider of apprenticeships for the craftworker trades listed above.
