Area Sheet Metal Worker Joint Apprenticeship Training Committee (JATC) Local Union (LU) #112 in Elmira  offers a mix of classroom instruction and on-the-job training in trades related to the offshore wind industry, including architectural sheet metal, detailing, roofing, balancing and adjusting, and HVAC systems. Through hands-on experience, mentorship, and opportunities to connect with industry professionals, participants develop the skills needed to pursue careers in construction, maintenance, or other aspects of offshore wind projects. Graduates become qualified journey-persons prepared for long-term careers and may continue to advance their training through areas of specialization such as HAZMAT training, advanced welding courses, OSHA safety courses, and working within confined spaces.

The Area Sheet Metal Workers JATC LU#112 program is a registered apprenticeship certified by the New York State Department of Labor (DOL).
